Def Leppard Fall Tour Cancelled
The third leg of Def Leppard’s North American Tour with Cheap Trick, set to begin on Oct. 22, has been canceled. The band has issued a statement on their website which says the cancellation is due to unforeseen personal matters – Cheap Trick has also issued the same message on its website and Facebook account.
“We know how truly blessed we are to have such committed fans,” said the band in the statement. “That’s why we’ve agonized over this decision. Even if just a single concert, we don’t take canceling shows lightly, but unfortunately life’s commitments need to be the priority.”
Ticket refunds are available at the point of purchase. The tour’s fall leg was to have gotten underway Oct. 22 in Reno, NV, and was set to run through November. Def Leppard embarked on the first North American leg of tour with Cheap Trick in June.
Early last year, Def Leppard released Songs From the Sparkle Lounge, the group’s first set of new material since 2002’s “X.” The new album landed at No. 5 on The Billboard 200 and topped the magazine’s rock and hard-rock albums charts.
